FAQs & General Information

Water is NEVER guaranteed.

The ditch company relies solely on Mother Nature to provide the water used for irrigation. If we have a poor snowpack in the mountains, we will more than likely have a poor water year. This may mean that water is turned into the canals later than usual or the water may be turned off sooner than usual. We cannot control some situations.

The full assessment still has to be paid, even during a poor water year.

When is the Irrigation Season?

The water dates are generally April - October.
Depending on the year, if we have a wet spring, the water may start mid-late April.

We generally turn off mid-October.

Blow-outs

Blow-outs can be scheduled starting around the last week of October each year.

NOTE: The irrigation company does NOT perform any blow-outs or any pump station maintenance, cleanings or repairs.

Who Takes Care of My Yard Sprinklers  If There is a Leak or Break?

The property owner is responsible for their own yard sprinkler issues.

The irrigation company does NOT fix broken lines within subdivisions.

Can I Sell My Shares?

No, the water is attached to the land. Even if you choose to not use the water, you cannot sell your shares.

Additionally, surface water (irrigation water), when available, is to be used before groundwater, to protect our most valuable resource.

How Much Water is Equal to a Share?

One share is equal to one miner inch, or approximately nine gallons of flow per minute.
